Frequently Asked Questions

You don't need to know before we speak.
People often consider coaching when something at work feels more difficult, unclear or complicated than it used to. You may be navigating a new role, increased responsibility, a difficult working relationship, organisational change, or simply finding that the approaches that worked before are no longer enough.
A Professional Clarity Session gives us a chance to understand what is happening and consider whether coaching, another form of support, or simply a different next step would be useful.
-
It is a complimentary 45–60 minute conversation focused on the situation you're navigating.
We'll explore what is happening, why it matters, what you've already tried and what may be contributing to the difficulty. We'll then consider what might be useful next.
There is no obligation to continue into coaching.

Self-Authority Leadership™ is the approach that informs my work. It is built around three movements: Stabilise, Discern and Choose.
The idea is simple: before deciding what to do, create enough space to understand what is actually happening.
It isn't about having all the answers or doing everything alone. It is about staying connected to your own judgement while remaining open to information, feedback and other perspectives.

No.
Much of my work is relevant to people navigating increased responsibility, workplace complexity or professional transition. You may already lead people, be stepping into management for the first time, or be an experienced professional trying to navigate a situation differently.
The starting point is usually the situation you're facing rather than your job title.Item description

Leadership Coaching is broader and is shaped around the professional situations and leadership challenges you're navigating.
First-Time Manager Coaching focuses specifically on the transition into managing others, including areas such as delegation, expectations, decision-making, feedback, difficult conversations and managing former peers.
There may be overlap. The distinction helps us focus the coaching around the transition you're actually experiencing.
-
Yes. My coaching is delivered online, and I work with clients internationally.
For international clients, session times are arranged around mutually workable time zones.
-
That depends on what you're working through and the kind of support that would be useful.
Rather than assuming a particular programme is right for you, we can discuss the appropriate structure after understanding what you're navigating. Any fees, number of sessions and other arrangements are agreed before coaching begins.
-
Yes. I offer support for organisations that want to better equip people making the transition into their first management role.
Rather than beginning with a fixed programme, I start by understanding your organisational context, what your new managers are navigating and where support would be most useful. Depending on the need, this may include facilitated workshops, small-group reflection, practical application and/or individual coaching.
