This coaching is specifically for professionals who are stepping into people management for the first time, or are still finding their feet in their first management role.

Work that once demonstrated your capability may now need to be delegated. You're expected to set direction, make decisions, address performance and help other people succeed — often while still carrying significant work of your own.

Coaching gives you space to work through that transition using the situations you're actually facing.

You may recognise some of this

First-time management can feel particularly challenging when:

  • you know you should delegate, but find yourself taking the work back

  • you're now managing people who were recently your peers

  • you need to give feedback without damaging the relationship

  • you're unsure when to make the decision yourself and when to involve your manager

  • you're trying to support your team while managing an already full workload

  • difficult conversations stay on your mind long after they're over

  • being available to everyone is becoming difficult to sustain

  • you're questioning whether you're doing enough — even when things are going well

Coaching alongside the transition

We work with the situations you're actually navigating — a conversation you need to have, a decision you're hesitating over, a team dynamic you're trying to understand or a responsibility you're learning to carry differently.

This isn't a fixed management curriculum. Coaching gives you space to understand what is happening, consider your options and decide how you want to respond.

Over time, the aim is to strengthen your judgement and help you develop a way of leading that is credible, sustainable and your own.

Working Together

First-time manager coaching is offered as a series of one-to-one online sessions, allowing us to work with challenges as they arise rather than treating each situation in isolation.

Because the transition into management brings some common challenges, I may also introduce practical tools and reflection prompts relevant to delegation, feedback, boundaries, decision-making and other situations you are navigating.

How We Begin

We begin with a complimentary Professional Clarity Session to understand what you're navigating and whether coaching would be useful.

Becoming a manager changes more than your responsibilities.
